Biography
Ernest James Arnold, age 82, of Chillicothe, IL died on Friday, March 5, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born on November 5, 1927 in Kewanee, IL the son of William E. and Bessie V. (Shreck) Arnold. He married Doris Schilling on December 26, 1940 in Rome, IL.
He is survived by his wife, three children: Michael Arnold of Chillicothe, Frances Mattern of Henry and Pennie (Amado) Arida of Dunlap; Six grandchildren: Diane Lewis of Wyoming, Jason Arnold of Chicago, Christina Britton of Lacon, Frank Mattern of Henry, Tony Arida of Dunlap and Sonia Arida of Dunlap; Four great grandchildren: Kahla Underwood, Kurtis Odell, Benjamin Britton and Alex Britton; and one sister: Beverly Nelson of Chillicothe.
He was a carpenter in the Chillicothe area working for various contractors then working for Caterpillar, Inc in Mossville for twenty years before retiring.
He was a member of the Peoria Casting Club and the Secretary of George Washington Lodge 222 in Chillicothe.
He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Rev. Steven Mall will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Masonic Rites conducted at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his church, Rescue 33 or to George Washington Masonic Lodge 222.
