Biography

Eleanor "Toodles" Rose Donath, 76, of Metamora, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Snyder Village in Metamora, Ill.
Born Aug. 19, 1933, in Philippi, W.Va., to Aldine D. and Elizabeth (Shoemaker) Poling, she married Jack L. Donath on July 1, 1953, in Philippi. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Foster of East Peoria and Carol and (Jeff) Bond of Washburn; and two sons, Robert Donath and John (Cheryl) Donath, both of Chillicothe. Also surviving are one sister, Mary Poling of Spartansburg, S.C.; two brothers, Aldine Poling of Fort Myers, Fla., and Robert J. Poling of La Plata, Md.; five grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and three brothers.
She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother.
She was a member of Eastern Star, Princeville Lodge and Blue Ridge United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. A service of committal will follow at 12 noon with private family burial at Blue Ridge Cemetery in rural Chillicothe. The Rev. Michael Robinson will officiate. Memorials may be made to her church.
