James W. Crose of Chillicothe, IL passed away at 1:20pm on February 6, 2010 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Chillicothe.

He was born on March 13, 1922 in Neoga, IL to Alonzo and Merle (Padgett) Crose. He married Betty A. James in Chillicothe on March 31, 1948. She survives.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are his wife, three sons; Jim A. (Carolyn) Crose of Chillicothe, Steve Crose of Dover, TN and Todd (Roxana) Crose of Princeville and 1 daughter; Cindy (Allen) Ginger of Chillicothe, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Jim was employed at Pabst Brewery until its closing.

He served in the Army during World War II in France.

Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He was a lifetime member of the Peoria Casting Club and VFW Post #4999.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Pastor Joe Hamilton of the First Baptist Church of Wyoming will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Rescue 33 or Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
