Life Legacy
Chillicothe - Ardis Crady, 87, of Chillicothe passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Chillicothe.
She was born on July 22, 1922, in Bradford, Ill., to Everett and Ethel (Lukehart) Talbert. She married Gerald (Ole) Crady on Aug. 16, 1941. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2000.
She is survived by two sons, Gerald L. (Sue) of Florida and Randy (Trish) of Germantown Hills; five grandchildren, Tim (Robin), Kimberly, Michael, David and Annette; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Taryn; and one sister, Opal of Bradford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Betty.
Ardis was a school secretary for the Chillicothe school system for 25 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter 178 Order of the Eastern Star of Chillicothe, Ill., and the First United Methodist Church of Chillicothe for almost 60 years. She was also a member of the Chillicothe Historical Society and Pearce Community Center in Chillicothe, where she was active with the line dancers.
She was an avid volunteer at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe and a longtime member of the Chicago Cubs Boosters. She deeply loved her family, country music, line dancing and teddy bears.
Services will be held at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, starting with the visitation at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 12 noon. The Rev. Ted Mitchel will officiate. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
Because of her love of watching her grandchildren participate in athletics, in lieu of flowers, memorials are to be made to the Eureka College Soccer program.
